Who's Keyonta?
My interest in creating art came about due to the previous view I had of the term “art.” Growing up whenever the term was used, I always imagined the things that would appear in school textbooks. Usually, it was boring paintings or drawings of the same old men in wigs. When I found out that even the things, I enjoyed were considered art, I wanted to create more to weed out the boring old ways. Despite starting just drawing, I found in the exploration of different mediums that I love using many of them. I also felt that limiting myself to only using one wouldn’t make me that great of an artist. My work Speaks in a visually direct way. It’s usually “what you see is what you get.” I am not the type to use my artwork to express myself, feelings, or emotions. My work is a presentation of the millions of ideas that rattle around in my head every day of my life.
